Providence Mayor to run for Patrick Kennedy's House Seat



David Cicilline, the mayor of Providence, Rhode Island, announced the other day that he will run for the congressional seat held by Patrick J. Kennedy. Cicilline, who is gay, was re-elected as mayor in 2006. Cicilline will run against Bill Lynch, the chairman of the state Democratic party, who announced his candidacy the same day. Read more here.
