Here's a new, in-your-face approach to rallying support for marriage equality. It uses the same old talking points, but the tone seems to breathe new life into them. I like it but I hope it doesn't backfire. The little kid swearing could be used against us.

Spain's F-Bomb HIV Prevention Campaign
Spain's Coordinadora Gai Lesbiana de Catalunya (CGL) isn't holding back with their new HIV prevention campaign, "Fuck You Sida (AIDS)." The in-your-face work was developed by an agency in Barcelona called Suigeneris. The TV commercial posted below begins with the words:

Hilarious: "Telephone" Parody
Here's a funny parody to Lady Gaga's latest video for "Telephone." Interesting how much backlash she's getting for the product placement. In three days this video had over 625,000 hits on YouTube.

Let's face it. Stereotypes wouldn't be so fun if they weren't rooted in some element of truth. As marketers, it's our duty to discern the difference between fact vs. fiction, relevant vs. irrelevant, and reality vs. assumption. But because sometimes the most interesting insights come from the most random or seemingly inappropriate places, I don't consider any starting point in that process to be too broad, open, or extreme. Regardless of how inappropriate some may find this post to be, it brilliantly reiterates the diversity within diversity that's so often overlooked. There are minorities within minorities and targets within targets. But until we've looked at a potential audience with as wide and as narrow of a scope as possible, we can't possibly know where to draw the line. So what do you think? Any other gay male stereotypes out there that were missed? Here's your chance to weigh in.
