American Airlines again receives a 100% score on HRC's 2010 corporate equality index

This marks the 8th consecutive year that the Fort Worth-based carrier has received a perfect score, a record unmatched by any other US carrier. “All of us at American Airlines are proud of this sustained national recognition,” said Denise Lynn, American Airlines Vice President – Diversity and Leadership Strategies. “It is one of the reasons we were invited to Capitol Hill earlier this year to testify about our experience in offering our employees equal benefits. We are thrilled to share this with our LGBT employees and the many loyal customers and diverse communities we serve.”

“American Airlines has worked hard to earn our reputation for fairness, inclusion and equality,” said Sam Santiago, Director–Workforce Volunteerism and Giving and member of American’s LGBT employee resource group – GLEAM. “American was the first major airline to implement same-sex domestic partner benefits, first to implement both sexual orientation and gender identity in its workplace nondiscrimination policies, and first to have a recognized LGBT employee resource group.”
